Praise for the Jazz Cerkno 2015 concert:
As a tribute to Jazz Cerkno, our most inventive jazzer Zlatko Kaučič led his jubilee orchestra composed of his promising students and seasoned Italian guests to perform his own and other known compositions in an energetic and emotional manner. They sowed a trance of cheerfulness among the audience (in the music, there were hints of the Slovenian bearer of cheerfulness, Kekec, as well). As monologues and dialogues of instruments and the highly concentrated entries of various sections died away, and the whole range from melodies to piercing bawls was an account of jazz and its rich heritage in Cerkno, and of Boštjan, the musicians formed a line and waved the sky goodbye as a tribute to him.

For this occasion, Zlatko Kaučič devised and again brought together Slovenian and Italian music improvisers into the Cerkno Jubileum Orchestra. The moment when Kozina’s theme from the film On Our Own Land rose from the zealously conducted collective improvisation, only to be followed by the Kekec theme weaving through the valleys of music, was one of the most heartfelt moments of the festival.
