15 Minutes of Fame are short events as part of the Independent Biennial (artist talks), the aim of which is to promote dialogue within visual practices by means of authors’ active participation. They are formed as short public presentations of authors’ works (not necessarily related to illustration, rather touching upon the field of creative industries quite broadly). With the 15′ events, we mainly wish to make original creations better known to the general public and enable them to speak for themselves, to present themselves and reflect in an interaction with the people present. Short public interventions in the form of presentations are also aimed at arousing interest in what is being produced in Slovenia, and at encouraging an open exchange of ideas.
In time, we wish to make the 15′ platform a synonym for creative socialising and opinion exchange within the broad visual sphere, where anyone can comment, present, criticise, argue and communicate the ideological side of original creation.
15 Minutes of Fame features the following authors and projects:
1. Vuk Čuk (Serbia)
2. Finnish visual poetry Showcase (Marion Robinson, Elina Koskelainen and Karri Kokko, Finland)
3. Endless Editions (Anthony Tino, USA)
5. Nonument Baltimore/Neja Tomšič
6. Independent Washington and Independent platform
Organised by Tretaroka Association and Kino Šiška.
