This book is dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of the Republic of Slovenia.
The background of independence: events from the first multi-party elections in Slovenia in April 1990, to the first democratic election in the independent Slovenia in December, 1992.
A several years long effort by noted Slovenian journalist, Matej Šurc, co-author of the reverberating and best-selling trilogy In the Name of the State that won several international awards and recognitions.
The book, Slovenia Deceived, which will be published by the Sanje Publishing House in the collection Documenta, reveals the background of the contemporary Slovenian history and brings forth several surprising, and until now, overlooked or concealed facts.
The in depth investigation of more than 10,000 mostly secret documents and interviews with more than one hundred individuals describes dramatic events that can be read as a suspenseful war political thriller.
The presentation will be hosted by noted theater artist and novelist, Draga Potočnjak with guests.
