14 Feb – the day of kisses, weepy and sugary love declarations, unplanned conceptions, Meg Ryan films. Well, Valentine’s Day 2016 will be different, as this is the day when we are hosting Behemoth, Abbath, Entombed AD and Inquisition.
We have seen Behemoth in Slovenia at a number of occasions – in 1999 as a minor band alongside Deicide, and the next time already as headliners, playing with Carpathian Forrest and Khold (there has been so much of it …), whereas since 2005 they have been performing only as headliners, following their rise to the throne of the music scene with their album Demigold. And with their latest performance at this year’s Metaldays they proved worthy of being at the top. More than just a music performance, it was extravaganza, ritual and theatre combined. They will not be necessarily repeating it all at their upcoming gig, but this is clear: the album The Satanist will be performed in entirety, plus the usual numbers.
Once Immortal, now Abbath. This masked black metal entertainer has closed another chapter and opened a new one. Instead of Horgh, Apollyon and Demonaz, Abbath is now only accompanied by Creature and King Ov Hell. Together they are playing the latest materials by Abbath, along with the classic tunes of the cult Immortal and Abbath’s Projekt I.
Last year, Entombed AD proved themselves with an excellent performance at Metelkova, where LG Petrov and others played the tracks of Back To The Front, and, naturally, a series of Entombed classic tracks. They are bound to be even better in Šiška.
The concert will be opened by the cult black metal duo Inquisition, who are highly acclaimed in the underground and have been growing in popularity in recent years.
A necromantic extravaganza, rather than a romantic dinner. Tickets are already available from the Dirty Skunks (at their gigs or Kadilnica Of Death nights in Orto bar), through On Parole, in stores Master Of Metal, Madness, through Eventim and at the Kino Šiška box office.
Organised by Veseli Dihurčki Cultural Association.
