David Krančan (1984) graduated with a degree in visual communication from the Department for Design at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. He has been a member of the editorial team at Stripburger for nearly fifteen years. Together with Andraž Polič he created a collection of comic book haikus, titled Na prvem tiru, published by Stripburger/Forum Ljubljana in 2008. In 2014, he created a comic book for children, titled Grdina, followed by Drunken Rabbit a year later. Both are based on the Zverinice iz Rezije tales. In recent years, his illustrations are regularly published on the cover of Dnevnik Objektiv. When it comes to comics, Krančan places an emphasis on the visual aspect above all. In both theory and practice he focuses on the exploration of the limits of comics as an art medium and the specificities of comic strip narration. His work is often wordless, with narrative keys hidden in the art. He lives and works near Kranj.
Organised by TAM-TAM and Kino Šiška.
