TRESK is an annual festival of music and music labels. It provides a platform for a number of Slovenian labels and amazing Slovenian artists and also breaks down and draws attention to the alternative music scene in Slovenia, among other things with its competitions and workshops. Tresk brings together musicians, visual artists, labels and label heads, distributors, organizers, the media and, of course, listeners and music fans.
MUSIC FAIR, 18:00 to 00:00
The alternative label scene is far from the wasteland it may appear to be at first glance. The past year gave us a bunch of great Slovenian music, and as a new year gets underway, it’s once again time to check out what our labels have in store. The Music Fair will focus on the presentations and booths of individual labels and on their past and future activities. Oh, and of course, on the music of their artists.
LIVE MUSIC PROGRAMME, 20:00 to 01:00
The evening programme will feature premieres and inclusive performances by an eclectic selection of Slovenian artists. Socially engaging lyrics, unorthodox approaches to rhythm, psychoactive rock, noise poetry and ambient electro tropicalia….
SsmKOSK
A chronicler from Bežigrad in Ljubljana, SsmKOSK uses the medium of spoken word to draw up an inventory of his surroundings. He conjures up urban phantoms and concrete echoes at the nexus and poetry and underground noise, then serves it all up in a roughshod breakcore aesthetic.
Persons from Porlock
Surprise guests whose modern take on psychoactive retro rock tore through last year’s Klubski Maraton event like a freight train. PfP are currently busy putting the finishing touches on their full length debut, which is expected to drop around the time of the Tresk Festival.
N’toko
Freestyle beast, rapper, vocalist, musician, producer, DJ, columnist, blogger, social activist – N’toko is an outspoken, above-ground personality packing serious underground music cred… Act like you know.
Blaž
Hailing from Izola, Blaž is a young herald of the hip hop sound of the Slovene coast. Sophisticated yet unorthodox when contemplating the rhythmic underpinnings of rap, with a bespoke affinity for sonic minutiae, Blaž is bumping in da front of the local beats scene. This year’s Tresk Festival will see him unleash his full length debut.
Funk of Terror
Funk of Terror is an electronic duo and project by Peter Žargij and Saša Podobnik. Equatorial delectations, the expulsion from paradise and primitive art are just some of the things that inspire them.
