CoFestival – The Art of Co-Living
International Festival of Contemporary Dance
27 Nov – 6 Dec 2015, Ljubljana
The idea of this performace/game emerged from the text The Festival as a “Microphysics of Power” (Foucault) in the Region of the former Yugoslavia, where the notion of festival – its transformation, structure, and the meaning of it are reviewed in the contemporary understanding of the context of ex-Yugoslavian countries.
With this project we seek to escape the generally proposed festival matrix and try to ponder and speculate upon its very structure: festivals as fields which have the potential to formulate new working protocols, relations and bonds, new concepts, new economy and economic relations, a space where new social capital can be created as well as public cultural value.
