Californian indie rockers Local Natives has emerged on the surface with the band’s critically-acclaimed album Gorilla Manor. From rave reviews to brilliant television performances, Gorilla Manor launched the band onto the global stage, saw them headlining theaters throughout America and Europe, opening for bands like Arcade Fire and The National, and winning them lauded slots at major festivals around the world.
The band says Hummingbird was created from the emotional framework of being stretched between two opposite poles. In the two years following Gorilla Manor’s release, the band saw the highest highs and the lowest lows they had ever experienced together. The songs on Hummingbird embody that similar dichotomy – they are fragile and powerful, opulent and spare, tense and poised. When it came time to properly set these songs to tape, the band did their initial tracking in Montreal, and then decamped to Brooklyn, enlisting as co-producer The National’s Aaron Dessner, whom they had recently befriended while touring together.

persons from porlock, or “the unwelcomed visitors”, as the expression in literature literary allusions to unwanted intruders who disrupt inspired creativity, are visibly “disturbing” Slovenian music scene since the appearance at Klubski maraton 15 organized by Radio Študent.
The young quarter from Ljubljana is known for adding contagiously intoxicating stoner riffs into their music, with an extract of late 60s rock, schizophrenic pop and some impressive improvised elements. The dreamy vocals put the audience in a special trance and wicked visualizations at live concerts take the whole experience to an even higher level.
They legitimized their name with a debut album “things people don’t like”, which was released this march at ZARŠ Records. After successfully “invading” various alternative clubs all around the country, persons from porlock are starting to be considered as one of the main representatives of neo-psychedelic music in Slovenia.
