Princess Plays is a theatre production, where by bringing on stage female archetypes such as Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Jackie Kennedy, as well as female iconic writers Sylvia Plath and Ingeborg Bachman, Elfriede Jelinek analyses the conditions of women captured between Being and Nothingness, half dead, half alive, struggling to climb over the invisible wall that separates them from the world. Together with the cast of five actresses and one actor of Slovensko mladinsko gledališče, the director Michał Borczuch creates a performance which speaks through different theatre languages (installation, documentary piece, theatre) and becomes the site of a parallel struggle between Jelinek’s narratives, performers and their condition.
