DRUGA GODBA, day 2: Saul Williams, Nneka, Pat Thomas & Kwashibu Area Band
Critical social engagement through music continues at 8.30, when the stage is taken by Nneka, ‘the voice of the younger generation of West African music’. This multi-award winning musician was last in Ljubljana in 2011, when she presented her Soul Is Heavy album. This time round it’s the turn of her fourth, My Fairy Tales, a concept album that explores the African diaspora and the problems it faces globally. The lyrics are wrapped in roots reggae and skilfully seasoned by authentic Afro-groove highlife.
Nekka’s show will be followed by Pat Thomas & Kwashibu Area Band gig at 22:00.
