MANU DELAGO HANDMADE
“Amazing percussionist and hang player” – Björk
“Virtuoso” – The Times
“A masterful and sensitive musician” – The Telegraph
Manu is a master of the hang and a drummer for the notorious Björk. He has worked with names such as The Cinematic Orchestra and Anoushka Shankar as well as the London Philharmonic Orchestra. An Austrian living in London, Manu is a band member for Iceland’s most famous musician, releasing his solo material for one of the most esteemed independent labels, Tru Thoughts.
When he first uploaded his hang playing onto the web eight years ago, he never imagined that years later the clip would hold millions of views, nor could he image outliving his instrument. Namely, the hang is no longer made today, yet it remains Manu’s main source of inspiration. His project revolves around the unique sound of the hang, which evolved into the album “Silver Kobalt” in April. The final product is an ambitious album in which different world intersect – from pop to avant-garde, from electronic to ambient music. Manu serves as the main driving force behind the project, but we should not neglect the contribution of other band members, especially the singer, keyboardist and violinist Isa Kurz. Despite such an impressive track record, it is not merely a demonstration of skill, but an original electro-acoustic journey with excellent live performances.

Vesna Godler and Jana Beltran are two voices in a single story. The instrumental minimalism of the guitar and bass or the blunt drum creates an ambience of fragile, dark, especially expressive compositions. When these intertwining, yet quite distinct voices come together on stage, the entire audience is liable to experience goose bumps. The band’s music is an intimate blues of relationships, enshrined on their debut “Heavy Rain” (ZARŠ, 2014). The female tandem has performed a host of shows in Slovenia as well as abroad. They are currently preparing material for their new album, some of which we will have the pleasure of hearing at the concert.
