Surely, Prismojeni profesorji are now a household name, their good old rock ‘n’ roll featuring young blood and soul having been bursting for two years from all kinds of clubs, bars, places and corners you could possibly think of – from private birthday parties to their recent appearance at the international festival MENT.
This concert however will be special, as they will be bringing to the grand Šiška stage an expanded playlist, special guests and, of course – their own album under their arms!
The nutty odyssey on the making of the record has not taken ten years, like Odysseus’ journey back home to Ithaca did, but it hasn’t been much less. However, this epic story brimming with monsters, gods, trolls, Cyclops and nymphs, particularly nymphs, is gradually nearing its end, or should we say its beginning. Only now their listeners are getting the first official audio release of Prismojeni profesorji bluesa. Along the way all their recordings happened to be on the verge of destruction as their studio was flooded, and they had to have them sent to Switzerland for recovery. Luckily, fortune was at their side. “Prismojenci”, as they began to be addressed over the years, have put extra effort into the release of the record. Based on their numerous collaborations, the tracks feature the trumpet, saxophone, percussions, and have been marked immensely by the great Borut Činč who needs no introduction. It was his indispensable Hammond organ and the honkytonk piano sound that took the Prismojeni profesorji music to a whole new level. Following two years of inconvenient incidents and seven years of playing together, the first album of Prismojeni profesorji bluesa is finally here. And what is to be expected? Blues, funk, soul, punk, rock, and country, having cooked, boiled and simmered into a stew, seasoned with a heaped spoonful of experimentation, improvisation, and, foremost, exuberant energy, which is actually what counts the most.
