The round table on urban sports aims at a new consideration of sport activities in urban centres in recent years. The starting point is the interest in new sport practices appearing in urban centres. We wish to pay attention to the decline and transformation of certain activities and flourishing of others, thus to identify potential new trends. We are also interested in how the urban environment impacts the emergence of sports activities and how sports activities help shape the urban environment. We see a special challenge in discussing the noticed merge of traditional urban sports with elements of the so-called outdoor sports. Examples of such practices: parkour and freerunning, slack line, breakdance, skateboard and longboard, climbing, cycling, critical mass cycling, alleycat racing, streetball, futsal, rollerblading, etc.
