Dance is a universal, mass activity – a form of entertainment and at the same time a strict, conceptual artistic discipline, a way of defining the thinking body. However, learned structured movement within a given context is not unique to dancing. The principles of choreography can be transferred into various spheres of our everyday life; choreographed are the paths of going to work, the jobs on the assembly line, global shipping routes …
The movement of our bodies is conditioned by more or less clearly defined patterns of movement that characterize individuals and the community. The exhibition A Blueprint for Movement unfolds the records of a choreographed motion that mirrors and co-creates social order. Rather than on the virtuosity of dancing, it focuses on the missteps and the clumsy attempts to follow the provided dance blueprints. In the selected projects, the three artists deal with sometimes invisible and sometimes seemingly meaningless choreographies. Whether just observing or creating new conditions, the works combine situations in which subjects adapt to a new environment by repeating the learned movement and build their own space within it.
Curated Series 2021: Constructed Identities explores social structures and situations from various perspectives and starting points, emphasizing the process of constructing an individual’s identity within a certain community and the latter’s role in specific social systems. Each exhibition will be accompanied by a publication, with the combined publications presenting the series as a whole.

Rea Vogrinčič (1994) graduated from the Department of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana in 2018, and is currently completing her postgraduate studies in Sculpture. She works in the field of visual arts and explores content related to the medium of sound. Since 2019, she has been co-creating the Pita Project platform with artist Nina Goropečnik. She graduated from the World of Art, School for Curatorial Practices and Critical Writing. She is part of the DobraVaga Gallery collective and part of the MATER visual-musical collective. As a mentor and workshop assistant, she has been involved in the konS platform for contemporary investigative art for the last six months. She has participated in several group exhibitions, including at the Simulaker Gallery (2021), the Equrna Gallery (2017, 2018 and 2021), the MediaNox Gallery, Maribor (2021), the Knifer Gallery, Osijek (2020), and the Lauba Gallery, Zagreb (2019).
Maruša Uhan (1994) completed her studies at the Minerva Academy in Groningen, the Netherlands, in 2017. She focuses primarily on naivety and its loss in the process of growing up, and on our gradual transformation into individuals adapted to the established social order. She has participated in various exhibitions with her work and has been included in several residency programs, including at the Y2 Gallery, Groningen (2017), the Kolla Festival, Steinfort Mirador, Luxembourg (2017), the DobraVaga Gallery (2018), the Simulaker Gallery (2019) and the IG Bildende Kunst Gallery, Vienna (2019). Since 2019, she has been conducting children’s workshops, offered by the P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. Institute, at the P74 Gallery in Ljubljana. In 2021, she took over part of the curatorial program at the Portal 2-7-7-7-8 gallery in Ljubljana’s Park Špica.
Martina Jurak (1991) completed a master’s degree in Sculpture at the Ljubljana Academy of Fine Arts and Design. She then moved to Berlin, where she did an internship at the performative-dance studio Tatwerk between 2017 and 2018. Abroad, she presented her first solo performance “Vacuum” (2018), the music videos “Village Creep” and “Death with it’s luminance” (2019), and the solo improvisation “Rooftops” (2020). She is now developing her experimental movement practice with elements of butoh dance and spatial studies. She addresses the phenomenon of the city through the relations between architecture and (non-)functioning movement. In 2019, she attended a dance residency at Berlin’s Lake Studio and prepared the performance “Spiral”. Between Berlin and Ljubljana, she also co-authored the video performance “Relations#2” with Neža Knez, shown in 2018 at the Zelenica Gallery in Rog, Ljubljana. At Kino Šiška, she participated in the young artist series, featured the solo installation “Flesh” in 2015, and participated in the group exhibition “Common Space” in Rijeka. She was part of the group exhibitions “Embodiment” at the Equrna Gallery (2017), “Blind Date” at the P74 Gallery (2016) and “Artwork in the Making” at the Media Nox Gallery in Maribor (2014). She received recognition for her master’s thesis “Productivity of a Movement: Exercises in Time – Wasting” and wrote the text “Space Through the Vision of Performance Art” for the publication About Space, as part of the Community Kit project at the Museum of Architecture and Design in Ljubljana (2017).
