The German musical phenomenon Milky Chance, who sold out our big hall with their emotionally intense indie pop in 2018, are returning to Šiška! In addition to older hits such as “Stolen Dance”, they will also play newer hits from last year’s album Trip Tape, whose millions and millions of streams further consolidated the band’s star status.
Over almost a decade of their career, guitarist and singer Clemens Rehbein’s and bassist and percussionist Phillipp Dausch’s catchy fusion of electronics, pop and folk as Milky Chance has garnered them a staggering five billion streams, sold out massive concerts around the world, featured them on more or less all the famed American late night shows and had them play legendary festivals such as Coachella and Bonnaroo. With hits such as “Cocoon” and “Colorado,” they repeatedly reaffirm that the viral success of their first single, “Stolen Dance,” was no coincidence. The creative chemistry between the two is simply a smash hit.
It is this harmony that also permeates the band’s latest single “Synchronize”, whose sunny 1960s melody drives on with the help of an energetic electro-pop rhythm section. The charming song continues the path they charted with last year’s unexpected album Trip Tape, which we’ll also listen to in Šiška – while their biggest fans might even listen to it in Switzerland. When you buy a presale ticket through the band’s website, you will be included in the draw for the main prize – a paid trip to Lausanne, Switzerland for the first concert of the band’s upcoming European tour! More information here, see you in December in Šiška.
London-based self-taught producer Quarry, who will open the evening, weaves Jungle-style wavy grooves in one moment and filters Jai Paul or LA Priest through the prism of leftfield art pop the next. The common thread of his music is creative restlessness, and his fearlessness guarantees him a fascinating and anything but ordinary future.
