ELEKTRO GUZZI

+ Shekuza

After a sold-out performance in 2019, the incredible trio Elektro Guzzi returns to Šiška, having enthralled audiences all over the world with its precise live techno playing. With a new release in hand, they’ll throw another one of their signature electronic parties.

FOR FANS OF: Trentemøller, Pantha Du Prince, Jeff Mills…

Tightly wound techno organism Elektro Guzzi, a trio of guitar, bass and drums, has been blurring the lines between analogue and digital for over 15 years with its stunning live techno performances. Without computers or loops, just playing live and in the moment, the guys have left audiences at top dance music festivals such as Roskilde, Sónar and Sziget, as well as legendary clubs such as Fabric and Berghain, speechless. At the same time, they’ve released a bunch of excellent albums, garnering praise from referential media such as The Quietus, Wire and Resident Advisor, as well as finding the time to wow us at one of the earlier editions of the MENT Ljubljana festival.

Over the years, the prolific trio has accumulated a number of unreleased, “lost” tracks, which they finally packaged in February this year into a compilation simply titled Lost Tracks – although Lost Hits might be a more appropriate title. The excellent release offers an eclectic collection of refined tracks that chronicle the band’s evolution into one of the most unique contemporary acts and an unstoppable, irresistible force for dancing. With the new release in tow, Elektro Guzzi are coming back to Šiška for the first time after a sold-out performance in 2019, so don’t delay getting your tickets – the dance floor will fill up quickly.

Veteran DJ, producer and musician Miha Šajina aka Shekuza, familiar from projects such as Moveknowledgement, Warhorse and Ewok, has recently focused his energy mainly on researching modular synthesisers and their sonic derivatives, which he also immortalszed on two independent albums, De Sica (2019) and Coriolis Effect (2020), for the experimental Ljubljana-based record label Kamizdat. He also supported The Comet Is Coming at Kino Šiška, and has since released his first techno EP Floorcuts for the Tehnopolis label, as well as created the music for the new media art piece Psyops.

Tickets on sale online and at Eventim outlets.

Organisation: Kino Šiška.
