FOR FANS OF: Joy Division, Molchat Doma, Boy Harsher …
She Past Away, a renowned Turkish post-punk and dark wave duo, has been captivating audiences since their formation in Bursa in 2006. Known for their unique blend of post-punk roots with gothic aesthetics, the band has been inspired by iconic acts such as The Sisters of Mercy, Asylum Party, and Joy Division. Their debut EP, Kasvetli Kutlama, released in 2010, marked the beginning of their journey, followed by their first album Belirdi Gece in 2012, which established them as prominent figures in the dark wave scene.
They continued to evolve their sound, incorporating electronic elements into their music. Their third album Disko Anksiyete, released in 2019, saw a shift towards disco sounds while maintaining their signature style, leading to a successful U.S. tour. She Past Away has also collaborated with the likes of Perturbator, The Soft Moon, Boy Harsher, and many others, further showcasing their versatility and ability to blend genres. Their upcoming performance at Kino Šiška in March 2024 is set to be an immersive experience, bringing their unique fusion of sounds and emotional intensity back to Ljubljana.
Three-piece band eat-girls craft songs in their apartment using cheap drum machines, clumsy synths, angular bass sounds and voices that sing all kinds of things. Nourished by the sound and experimentations of Broadcast, the cold dub of Anika or the no wave of Lizzy Mercier Descloux, it is on stage that Elisa, Amélie and Max reveal themselves. The group has supported the likes of French synth pop duo Agar-Agar and the great Thalia Zedek. A full-length debut is planned for 2024.
