Bosnian neo sevdah ambassadors are returning to Kino Šiška, having conquered the world with their contemporary fusion of traditional, jazz and pop music. Fronted by new vocalist Selma Droce, they’ll present songs off their latest award-winning album, as well as earlier works.

Divanhana, a dynamic ensemble formed in 2009 by Sarajevo Music Academy students, specializes in revitalizing Balkan traditional music with a modern twist. Their unique sound blends sevdah, the urban traditional music of Bosnia & Herzegovina, with elements of jazz, pop, and classical music, showcasing their versatility and innovative approach. Throughout their career, Divanhana has graced prestigious festivals like Womex in Thessaloniki and Expo 2020 in Dubai, reflecting their international acclaim.
The band’s discography includes five studio albums, with Zavrzlama (2022) standing out as a critical darling. This album topped the European World Music Charts and helped the band earn Songlines Magazine’s Best Group Award in 2023. Featuring both original compositions and reimagined traditional pieces, Zavrzlama has not only expanded Divanhana’s audience but also preserved the rich heritage of Balkan music.
The band has played nearly 500 emotionally captivating concerts across Europe, Canada, and Asia. Kino Šiška proudly welcomes Divanhana back in November 2024, inviting audiences to experience their soul-stirring melodies, rich cultural heritage, and innovative musical fusion that have captivated listeners worldwide.
