CHELSEA WOLFE + Mary Jane Dunphe

concert

Get ready for an electrifying night with Chelsea Wolfe, an ethereal force in modern music whose expressive vocals and adventurous approach have carved a unique niche in the alternative scene. Having captivated audiences worldwide, she will visit Slovenia for the first time with arguably her best solo work to date, already considered one of the releases of the year.

FOR FANS OF: Zola Jesus, Nine Inch Nails, Cult of Luna …

Emerging in the early 2010s, Chelsea Wolfe quickly made a mark with her ability to blend serious themes with melodic beauty, solidifying her as a trailblazer in alternative music. Wolfe’s 2013 release, Pain Is Beauty, was a critical turning point, introducing a more refined and expansive sound, integrating electronic elements that broadened her musical palette. This evolution continued with subsequent releases, garnering Wolfe widespread acclaim for the intensity and emotional depth of her music, and yielding collaborations with the likes of Converge, Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens of the Stone Age, Emma Ruth Rundle, Deafheaven, Myrkur, and many others.

Having firmly established herself as one of the most prominent artists in alternative music, Wolfe went a step further with her latest release, 2024’s She Reaches Out to She Reaches Out to She, her first album on Loma Vista Recordings. The critically lauded work has received high marks from the likes of The Needle Drop, making it one of the year’s essential listens and a firm contender for any best-of lists due towards the end of the year. The ambitious record takes Wolfe’s signature sound to another level, applying influences by the likes of Depeche Mode and Tricky to unlock a more accessible music expression. As she brings the album to our stage with her visceral energy and captivating stage presence, prepare to be taken on a profound musical journey.

Wolfe will be accompanied by Mary Jane Dunphe, an artist who defies conventional storytelling techniques and utilises her unique skills as a poet and musician to convey stories through an embodied presence, performance, and the vivid transmission of emotions. Dunphe’s work is characterised by a deep connection to cinematic and fragmented memories, making her music not just an auditory experience but an evocative journey through feelings and narratives.
