+Hailing from Montreal, BIG|BRAVE is a trio of monumental sound. The band that started out as a support act for The Silver Mt. Zion and Godspeed You! Black Emperor already made an impression at Kino Šiška in 2016 when they opened for Sunn O))). Their distinctive sound of massive minimalism and intense drone is underpinned by outpours of deconstructed guitar music, with the frontwoman’s voice insistently piercing through.

BIG|BRAVE’s line-up of Robin Wattie, Mathieu Bernard Ball & Tasy Hudson create spectacular rock arrangements that sound magnitudes larger than you might expect from a trio with just two guitars and drums. With their way paved by Montreal’s A Silver Mt. Zion and GY!BE, the band is known for their experimental music, combining elements of minimalism, ambient and folk music with strong drone and noise rock influences. The seeds of BIG|BRAVE were planted in 2012 and their debut album “Feral Verdure” (2014) brought them more recognition. After collaborating with Efrim Manuel Menuck, they released their second full-length record “Au De La” in 2015 and found a home at Southern Lord Records.
During this tour, the band will present their latest album “A Chaos of Flowers” at Kino Šiška. The lyrics are heavily influenced by Wattie’s rediscovery of folk songs written by women poets. Her interpretation of the artists’ poetry, interwoven with Wattie’s own lyrics, explores the most vulnerable of human experiences.
Multi-instrumenalist and composer MJ Guider creates ambient soundscapes filled with dystopian drones and elegiac melodic improvisation, providing the perfect intro to the monumental climax with BIG|BRAVE.
