BOWRAIN: album release Million Homes

+ Kiki

Renowned local musician Bowrain has impressed us in Šiška several times, most recently with the pre-pandemic concert 2020 Seconds Alive. This time he returns with for the release of his new album Million Homes, which tackles the perennial problems and issues of modern times.

FOR FANS OF: Thom Yorke, Hania Rani, Nils Frahm …

During the past decade, Slovenian pianist, composer and songwriter Tine Grgurevič – Bowrain left a strong impression on the local music scene with his varied albums and concerts. Among other things, he celebrated the global Piano Day with us and opened for Lamb. He has gone unplugged for Radio Val 202 and is a close collaborator of the internationally renowned artist JAŠA. He has already performed in most European countries and the USA, as well as in South Africa, where he collaborated with the Johannesburg band The Brother Moves On.

Drafts for Bowrain’s new studio album Million Homes were first created during the pandemic, but then rested in his archive before being enhanced with a modern orchestral sound in collaboration with music producer and arranger Vid Ahačič. The album addresses the perennial problems and issues of modern times, such as the environmental crisis, loneliness and war, while at the same time giving hope and encouraging human action within the framework of community. Milion Homes will be released on the NIKA label in September, and Bowrain will debut it live in Šiška with numerous musical guests.

The concert will be opened by the Slovenian singer-songwriter Laetitia Pohl – Kiki, who collaborated with Bowrain for his unplugged performance. Described by Radio Študent as a “sorceress of intimate stories”, Kiki won the oldest Slovenian festival for young musicians in 2022, and she performed at this year’s MENT Ljubljana festival as well. Last year she released her debut album KRiKi, imbued with her magical folk pop, and a follow-up is in the works already.
