The downtempo alt-pop duo Liamere is returning to Kino Šiška after nine years. With an entirely new six-member live-act lineup, Liamere will present their latest full-length album, Re-. Known for their melancholic tracks such as Sabotage, Plaything, and Manitoba, the duo previously captivated audiences at the INmusic Festival.
After two critically acclaimed albums and a hiatus, the duo is now moving away from their signature dark electronica toward brighter production techniques while remaining loyal to their exploration of the intersections of electronica, pop, and trip-hop.
Upon the release of their debut album, Sara Korošec wrote about their music:
“The artists undoubtedly excel in the technical aspects of music creation, while also possessing a wide musical perspective, allowing them to play with elements in various ways. Yet, many tracks retain the core characteristics of pop songs. In a way, the overall sound feels very retro, yet it simultaneously carries a modern, urban vibe. The combination of well-produced R&B and trip-hop beats, undefinable synth harmonies, and a delicate vocal creates a refined sonic experience. While their music may not introduce groundbreaking approaches, its clarity and confident stance make it highly convincing.”
The tracks on their new album continue the tradition of intertwining melancholia with various electronic genres. However, thanks to new and diverse instrumentation, they exude a refreshing openness to broader sonic landscapes—a promise already hinted at in the singles Settle Down and Prospects. Adding to this sense of renewal is a lineup of talented instrumentalists and musicians, who will bring fresh interpretive nuances to their familiar ballads.
