Baby is an immersive performance in which Viktor Szeri, Tamás Páll, and Gyula Muskovics speculate about Hollow, the art collective they formed seven years ago.
At the center of the piece is their virtual offspring, inviting the audience on a journey to Phoenix, an imaginary darkroom where it was born. In other words, Baby travels through time to the first moment, when, still formless, one can become anything. The piece is the latest in a series of projects that view art-making as a form of world-making. In addition to offering a unique insight into Hollow’s universe, the performance speculates about how a work of art would talk to its creators if it could speak.

Bio:
Hollow embodies the shared hallucinations of dancer/choreographer Viktor Szeri, media artist/game designer Tamás Páll, and curator/writer Gyula Muskovics. They have been creating immersive environments and cross-reality experiences since 2018, merging the methodologies of contemporary dance with sound, game mechanics, cutting-edge technology, poetics, media art, augmented reality, virtual reality, and live-action role-play. Their artworks are “world prototypes” where they call into question the dominant regimes of consensual reality. In the past, they have provided access in various forms, in off-sites, theatres, galleries, and festivals across Europe, to the land of obscurity, investigating topics and contexts such as queer cruising, the hyperspace, millennial cults, the radicalization of the gamer subculture, eco-anxiety, nature as a black box, and walking as a psychoactive substance.
The MODINA project is co-funded by the European Union.
