Kontradikshn is a Slovenian nuclear-rock sensation that has been making waves for over a decade. With their uncompromising approach and distinctive sound, they are always ahead of their time. Their music is a powerful sonic wall, blending explosive guitars, synths, and live drums. They have packed venues both at home and across the former Yugoslav region.
After releasing their debut album Reframing, they toured all former Yugoslav countries twice. In 2017, they embarked on a 13-day tour, playing eleven shows across Austria, Czechia, Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary. In 2019, they were selected to perform at the MENT Ljubljana festival, where they filled Orto Bar to the brim.
In 2024, they pushed the boundaries of what’s possible—becoming the first Slovenian electro trio to perform their repertoire with a full symphony orchestra (Symphony Orchestra of Krško Music School), setting a new milestone in alternative music. This was also the first performance of its kind in the history of the Izštekani show on VAL 202. Their first Slovenian single, Vesolje posodil kolegu, became the Song of the Week on VAL 202, followed by four more singles, music videos, and two live videos from their sold-out show at the Cultural Center Krško with the symphony orchestra. The song Večna also earned the Song of the Week title on VAL 202 in February this year.
Kontradikshn is regarded as a pioneer of alternative electronic rock in the entire former Yugoslav region. Their achievements speak for themselves:
2013 – The first Slovenian band to win an award at the prestigious Demofest in Banja Luka, ranking 2nd out of 400 competing bands.
2015 – Ranked among the TOP 5 new Slovenian music acts as part of InMusicMENT! Out of 100 bands, they made it to the very best.
2024 – The first Slovenian band to perform their repertoire with a full symphony orchestra on Izštekani.
