One of the standout bands of the new Serbian wave, Gazorpazorp, will present their long-awaited studio debut this June, joined by fellow art-punk acts Short Reports and balans.

FOR FANS OF: Repetitor, Metz, Squid…

Gazorpazorp is a Belgrade-based post-punk/garage rock band widely regarded as one of the most promising acts of the young Balkan generation. Since 2018, this lively quartet – known for sharp guitar riffs, catchy melodies, and incisive lyrics – has been riding the new Serbian wave, first turning heads with their debut EP #1, followed a few years later by the equally punchy Od vazduha i sunca. Through high-energy gigs and appearances at festivals like MENT Ljubljana and Belgrade Beer Fest, they’ve built a loyal following across the region in anticipation of their full-length debut.

Niz reku, released this January via Moonlee Records and Pop Depresija, is “an album by a mature band whose members are in sync and know exactly what they want to hear in their music” (Radio Študent), offering intimate stadium-sized anthems full of emotion, layered guitars, harmonies, strong rhythms, melody, and love. Blending noise rock, math rock, post-punk, and psychedelia, their sound draws comparisons to acts like Black Midi and Protomartyr while paying homage to both Yugoslav and Anglo-Saxon traditions. They’ll treat us to the album live in concert this June.

Support duties fall to two art-punk acts: one duo and one trio that began as a duo. From Novi Sad comes Short Reports, whose fiery debut Vožnja earned acclaim beyond regional borders and was named the best album from the former Yugoslav region in 2024, among other accolades.

Joining them in Šiška are local favourites balans, the Ljubljana-based bunkerpop/art-punk trio formed in 2013 by Andrej Pervanje and Kristin Čona, later joined by Jan Kmet. Known for their playful genre melange and striking stage presence, balans have brought their eccentric humour and polished live shows to showcase festivals across Europe, and we can’t wait to welcome them back to Šiška.
