Anthropological choreographic study of Amanda Piña and Daniel Zimmerman titled Dance and Resistance is the second part of the choreographic series Endangered Human Movements. The authors place in the spotlights the dances of cultural practices that are considered endangered or even extinct in different parts of the global world. This time, the choice of kinetic forms by which different peoples address vegetation cycles, animal ecosystems and atmospheric phenomena and which the authors included in the performance was determined by the criterion of contemporary corporative economic exploitation by which different companies are destroying natural resources and consequently human communities and their culture.
The performance explores the possibility of bodily resistance within the current framework of the neoliberal market economy and the depletion of natural resources.
