In the dance solo Lightness, the author is primarily interested in the tactics and strategies with which we try to restore to the body and mind some of that lightness in one’s presence we usually admire in children, as well as the ways that allow us to break away from the burden imposed on the individual by the turbo-capitalist system.
The author plays with the methods that individuals resort to in order to free themselves from the shackles that burden them. She establishes and translates established approaches into movement material, gradually layers it and frees it from prescribed templates. By introducing irony and humor, she breaks down the one-dimensional understanding and takes the viewer towards a lighter state as well.
