Lastings – Passings is “a cluster of five compositional proposals that function as a moving audio image. We guide the visitor through the space: s/he enters into sensuous modulations, watching and listening to them, at once co-shaping them.
The happening is focused on the traits and contours of time-determined movement, as well as on the changing relations between the audio and the imaginary space and the space of the frame”, says choreographer Andreja Rauch Podrzavnik. The author doesn’t see lasting as static serenity or stillness, for it contains a full cycle of movement including its disappearance. “Lasting is neither denying movement not denying the ephemeral nature (of dance)”, she says. To be more precise: “at some point, which is neither image nor passage but some sort of hook that holds the image pinned to time”, wrote Blaž Lukan. The hook is thus a prerequisite for Lasting to be hanged in space as an image of temporal dimension. It seems that one needs an environment or a situation in order to achieve that.
