This year, Anja Bukovec, the most successful Slovenian violinist, will perform her traditional holiday concert in a special way, as befits a special time in special circumstances – via live stream from our venue.
Internationally acclaimed musician Anja Bukovec is the most successful Slovenian violinist to date. Her albums of classical music have topped sales charts, and during her career she has collaborated with exceptional Slovenian and foreign artists, such as Terrafolk, En Shao, Alan Buribayev, Timothy Redmond and multiple BAFTA winner Christopher Gunning, as well as global pop acts such as Die Fantastichen 4, Marlo Glen, Marque, Jeff Healey and others. She has also performed for numerous eminent Slovenians and Europeans, including Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
She will have the honour of performing for you a special Christmas programme featuring classic pieces by Antonin Dvořák, Gabriel Fauré, Johann Strauss, Tomaso Albinoni, Alojz Srebotnjak, Jani Golob and more.
Anja will be accompanied on piano by young pianist Ana Semič Bursać, a recipient of the Ljubljana Academy of Music Škerjanec and Prešeren Awards, a former assistant at the Ljubljana Academy of Music, and a Professor of Piano at the Ljubljana Conservatory of Music and Ballet.
