This year’s MENT will feature the sixth edition of the APPOINTMENT commercial exhibition project of music art posters already. The project was launched in 2016 in the desire to expand the visual part of the MENT Ljubljana festival and at the same time to revive and question the very form of the music and art poster.
This year, the 67 artists were again assigned one of the festival’s music acts, whose music served as their main source of inspiration for creating the poster. The result is a series of unique music and art posters in a limited edition, which are the product of a kind of “blind date” between musician and artist – hence the name of the project.
This year’s edition of the APPOINTMENT project returns to the risography technique, which, thanks to a screen-like printing process, enables a unique overlap of colours and thus a unique look of the prints. The printing was taken care of by the local association of risography aficionados and art collective Riso Paradiso. The diversity of the posters was also facilitated by the unique artistic language of visual artists from Slovenia and abroad, who approached making the posters through the media of photography, illustration, painting, graphic design and 3D design. With each edition, the project tries to expand the concept and potential of the music poster, while emphasising the importance of intersections and cooperation between different fields of artistic creation.

Seven copies of each poster, numbered and stamped, will be on sale at the DobraVaga Gallery during the exhibition. During the festival, they will also be on display and for sale at Kino Šiška.
