The young hopes of Slovenian hip hop, Arne & Tao, will present their long-awaited debut album with the help of another promising hip-hopper, Žena. The album A veš kaj mislm? is imbued with sincere feelings, life’s turning points and fresh beats – party guaranteed!
The young duo from Ljubljana, Arne & Tao, is adorned by a fresh sound and a view of hip hop that deviates from established guidelines. In combination with the hyperactive production, which hints at UK streets, the lyrics, packed with teasing jokes and puns, unfold into a colorful, diverse repertoire, one where you don’t need any prior rap knowledge to enjoy the music. The two long-time comrades won us over with their charismatic performance at the Tresk #12 festival, then warmed us up together with Žena at Vazz’s sold-out album release.
Žena will join them this time as well, as she is the main source of inspiration for the new songs and a featured artist, and as such has a very prominent role on the new album. In the last few years, the musician has turned heads with her old-school approach, playful flow and a bunch of great singles – her “Blossom” session is among the most watched ones on the MENT Ljubljana YouTube channel.
The dynamic trio will present A veš kaj mislm?, a record created during the first year of Arne’s relationship with Žena. As a result, the project is imbued with sincere emotions, the euphoria of love and the feeling of invincibility that comes from it. The production album ranges from classic hip-hop sampling to loose synths and disco drums, representing a breath of fresh air on the Slovenian urban scene.
