With the release of their debut album, Batista Cadillac, the finalists of this year’s EMA Eurovision Song Contest selection, are bringing their radio-friendly soul, funk, blues and rock blend to Šiška.
Since their childhood, vocalist Urban Lutman and guitarist Matija Koritnik have formed the firmly grooving core of the currently six-piece Batista Cadillac band. They came up performing on Slovenia’s Got Talent among other shows, and in addition to a growing number of listeners, their mix of soul, funk, rock and blues also attracted other local artists – first Thomas March for a collaboration, then funk jazzers Pijammies (P’Jays), who joined the band itself. Many of their songs were Songs of the Week on Radio Val 202 and ended up among the most played songs on the radio in 2019 and 2020.
After last year’s friendly separation with P’Jays, the founding members of Batista Cadillac strengthened the band with a new line-up and took part in the EMA Eurovision Song Contest selection. With the hit “Mim pravil”, the band easily made it to the finals and placed a high second in the final standings with an excellent performance. They’re keeping their momentum going with the release of their debut album this spring. The soul train is ready to take you away!
