Next year, fifty years will have passed since the first international exhibition BIO was launched (1964). In the meantime, Ljubljana has welcomed twenty-three international design exhibitions, the jubilee twenty-four event presenting an opportunity to reflect on the past and look into the future.
On Thursday 24 October at 7.30 pm, a public discussion will be held in Kino Šiška on future challenges and opportunities of the design biennial, and on seeking responses to the changes that the design sphere and the society have been facing. The discussion will be hosted by Jan Boelen, Belgian critic and curator, director of Z33 gallery, programme leader of the postgraduate programme Social Design at Design Academy, Eindhoven and Chairman of the Committee for Architecture and Design of the Flemish Government.
