Wednesday, 21 May 2014, P74 Center and Gallery / KAPSULA
Trg Prekomorskih brigad 1, 1000 Ljubljana
We kick off the festival on Wednesday, 21 May at 18.00h in KAPSULA with a presentation of the newest releases published by Zavod P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. We will present Notebook on Art, new series of short thematic editions on contemporary arts which aim to fill the gap in the field of local reflection on contemporary visual arts. The first two notebooks include texts by Dejan Habicht “12 Boring Poems” and Jože Barši “Irwin: NSK State in Time (detail: Nigerians)”. Notebook on Art was designed by graphic designer Ajdin Bašić. The presentation will include a talk with the authors.
At 19.00h you are invited to the P74 Center and Gallery for the opening of the exhibitions Collectors’ Editions and KODOJI Press.
The exhibition Collectors’ Editions brings a series of exclusive collectors’ editions, which were created by local and international artists, among them Alighiero e Boetti, Jesper Fabricius, David Nez, Dalibor Martinis, Mladen Stilinović, Mladen Stropnik, Vlado Martek. Alongside the exhibition we are preparing an informative and educational talk about editions and their economic and historical context.
The exhibition KODOJI Press presents important independent Swiss publishing house from Baden which focuses on contemporary visual arts and photography. The exhibition includes current printed matter, posters and graphics. KODOJI PRESS is an independent art publishing project, founded in 2007 by designer Winfried Heininger. Its main objective is to offer non-commercial projects a communicative platform. In close collaboration with the artists Kodoji Press produces artists’ books and attempt to filter and emphasize the essence of the artistic work.
