The fresh international ensemble first introduced themselves to the public at last year’s Jazz Cerkno Festival. The trio plays improvised, free jazz music, flirting with sonic voyages within the very field of improvised music. Their music is energetic, rhythmically melodic, as well as clinging to detailed, fragile sonic spectrums that the listener can feel them and experience a sonic voyage beyond the expected. At Jazz Cerkno, the trio was joined by special guest Rob Mazurek. The American trumpeter, a world-class artist, provides the trio with a special sonic stamp, the so-called “stellaroid” that comes from his trumpet.
The entire performance was recorded and will be released as the album Age Of Chaos via the acclaimed Portuguese label Clean Feed.
Saxophonist Cene Resnik is among the more active musicians of the middle generation, as he plays in numerous local and international ensembles, such as Cene Resnik Quartet, with which he’s released an album for Clean Feed Records. his playing style is also influence by Buddhist meditation, which he’s been practicing a number of years. he’s a member of the internationally acclaimed trio Watch For Dogs, Mahakaruna Kvartet, “Jaz, Drevo”, Acamar Trio etc.
Pianist Giorgio Pacorig is a representative of the Furlan Italian creative music scene, active in various musical fields. He plays and records with numerous acclaimed names, such as Tristan Honzinger, as well as the excellent Pipe Dream group alongside cellist Hank Robertson. He’s also a part of the Dobba Lab collective.
Drummer Marko Lasič comes from Vrtojba and studied drums under Zlatko Kaučič. He has a very energetic and explosive drumming style. He collaborates with various Italian and Slovenian musicians in different inter-genre bands. Together with his brother Samo he leads the Alchemichal Playgrounds collective.
