The multitalented artistic couple of Danielle de Picciotto and Alexander Hacke is returning to Šiška! Hacke left us speechless as a member of the legendary Einstürzende Neubauten, while together with de Picciotto, one of the founders of the famed Berlin Love Parade, they charmed us with both the fairy-tale project The Ministry of Wolves and as support for Twin Peaks siren Julee Cruise. This time, they’ll unveil their epic new project, Perseverantia.
Alexander Hacke and Danielle de Picciotto have been touring the world relentlessly since 2010, seeking new ways to work as artists in a world characterised by gentrification, the erasure of the individual, the rising cost of living and the selling out of all values. The German-American couple dedicated their release Perseverantia to one of the key lessons they learned during this time – the importance of perseverance for successfully achieving beneficial goals.
Musically, they spread their message via a dark concoction of drone, noise and psychedelia, taking us across hypnotic, cinematic landscapes with the help of a purring hurdy-gurdy, melancholy string melodies and humming guitar and bass, occasionally backed with spoken word lyrics or stunning throat singing. No wonder Louder Than War gave the album a high mark of 9/10!
We thus invite you for a musical evening with a pair of guests we always look forward to seeing again – they never disappoint and always serve up something unique. See you in October!
Organisation: Kino Šiška.
