Demolition group returns to Kino Šiška presenting their new studio album “Zlagano sonce”. Their release of a new album also marks the beginning of their 33nd anniversary celebrations. They will be marking their first third-of-the-century most prominently with the third record release after their reawakening in 2009. Being part of the group since their beginnings, founding members Jože Pegam, Matjaž Pegam and Goran Šalamon were later joined by three (new) members, Tomi Gregel, Ivica Gregel and Matija Lapuh.
Unfortunately, not much has changed on the Planet of Old Men for the past five years. Maybe it is only that the tyranny, untouchability, plundering and other types of orgies are being performed by capitalist financial elites supported with the neoliberal propaganda for all to see, without shame or disguise. Instead of revolt or resistance, there is a growing feeling of helplessness, fear and humble bending. If the Planet of Old Men was a reader naming neoliberal terms as a parasite and disease harming social relations, the new album by Demolition Group is here to uncover the sicknesses of individuals’ mind and soul, resulting from the disintegrated community and intolerable anguish originating in the unbearable realisation that lie and fake ignorance are the only tools enabling us to maintain the current situation.
But still. Demolition Group are a stone in the mosaic of survival, and they stand for 33 years of persistence and survival at the margins of rock music, deep in the underground.
The 14th album of Demolition Group will be presented for the first time on 14 May in Kino Šiška, for all of us to send it off to the world.
Till the last drop of blood, till the last drop of sweat …
