Slovenian hiphop veteran Doša, who’s prepared to speak his mind even to the president of the country, is coming to Šiška.
Many – undoubtedly the president himself as well – were probably surprised when Doša released his “Open Letter to the President of Slovenia” diss track. But truth be told, the surprise was unfounded. Throughout his career, despite the respect of his peers and collaborations with well-known Slovenian musicians, Doša has never tried to push to the forefront, to have all eyes on him all the time. He’s always preferred to wait for the right time and then hit. Fearlessly, directly, brutally sincere.
Since first calling on people to raise their middle fingers, Doša has always known how to express his anger over social injustice into piercing lyrics – no wonder he followed up his letter to the president with “Postcards” to the current government. At a time when it seems rappers have taken on the musical cry to revolt, his approach seems all the more prophetic, but those who’ve been following him through the years know that he’s always belonged in the heavyweight category of Slovenian rap. Those who haven’t can see for themselves on our stream in April.
