The music duo Dovč–Krmac, which has been active in various constellations for a decade, presents the original project Biti, which tackles environmental issues through audio exploration based on the sounds of the accordion, tuba and voice.
With the help of modern technological tools, the renowned musicians manipulate sound in surprising ways and fill the space with a dance beat and lush electroacoustic soundscapes, interspersed with virtuoso interludes and improvisation.
Accordionist and composer Janez Dovč is one of the most prominent contemporary Slovenian musicians. We’ve already listened to him in Šiška as part of the ELDA Trio, among others. As a musician, composer and producer, he collaborates with numerous ethno, classical, pop and jazz soloists at home and around the world. In addition, he makes music for film and theatre, including the award-winning music for the film The Tree by director Sonja Prosenc. As part of the Sounds of Slovenia project, he dedicates himself to contemporary folk music, and as a founder and artistic manager of Creative Field Celinka.si and the Godibodi Festival, he provides opportunities for creating, performing and listening to quality Slovenian music.
Goran Krmac is a musician, composer and arranger, and above all a virtuoso tubist with jazz, folk and classical influences. He regularly collaborates with renowned musicians from various genres, including Kaja Draksler, Robert Jukič, Big Band RTV Slovenia, Boštjan Simon and Rudi Bučar, and also appears in both theatre and film scores. He has been the artistic director of Big Band Cerknica since 2013, and he premiered his project Planetarium for solo tuba and electronically manipulated sounds in 2019.
