As part of the sixth anniversary of the DobraVaga Gallery, Ema Maznik Antić will present her first solo exhibition in the Artist per Month space.
We find ourselves in a situation reminiscent of an abandoned space that it is unlikely we would ever enter. The room looks like a document in which we find serially produced elements of undefined shapes, the function of which is not completely known. Backpack-like objects, to which small series-produced elements are densely attached, give the impression that their function is defined, but its usefulness in a given situation cannot be understood. The objects do not have a fixed position within the systems we know.
Ema Maznik Antić (1998) graduated in painting in 2021 at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (ALUO) in Ljubljana, where she is currently pursuing a master’s degree in painting. She participated in the s04e03 (2021) group exhibition as part of the student pop-up gallery 7:069 at the Alkatraz Gallery and in the ALUO student exhibition No White Canvas (2020) at the Bank of Slovenija Mala Galerija. She is interested in off-site, donor and serial objects, bricolaging, the role of the author, and the ways in which matter forms makeshift assemblages. The author becomes the entropic feed of bodysnatcher objects metabolised through diffused distribution and photo documentation.
