In November, the Artist per Month series will feature multitalented young artist Evgen Čopi Gorišek. The DobraVaga Gallery will be taken over by the imaginary urban bustle of absurd events and adult children, created by the artist – a student of sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana – with acrylic paints, spray-paints, markers and charcoal on canvas.
Evgen Čopi Gorišek is currently studying Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. In addition, he devotes a lot of his time to painting on large canvases and walls. He creates abstract paintings depicting people and objects from everyday life, often distorted and deformed via different techniques and vivid colours. His current creations act as a critique of today’s consumer society and everyday urban life, as well as depicting minor absurd events and situations, which he then reinterprets on giant canvases.
