Slovenian-Croatian duo freekind., a mainstay of festivals and radio waves abroad with its refined mix of soulful melodies, funky rhythms and positive energy, is returning to Šiška. As part of an electrifying musical evening, the girls will present highly anticipated new material and ensure an unforgettable concert.
Freekind. are successfully writing a new chapter of regional neo-soul and noticeably stands out from the crowd. The international line-up of Croatian pianist and vocalist Sara Ester Gredelj and Slovenian drummer Nina Korošak Serčič is proof that love for RnB, hip-hop and soul music can liberate people, lift them up and instil them with hope.
The duo arrived in 2020 with the EP not good enough, which was enough for their first performances at festivals and conferences such as MENT Ljubljana and Waves Vienna. They continued their live career in our stream, at the Ljubljana Jazz Festival and at the largest European showcase festivals, such as Reeperbahn and Eurosonic Noordeslaag. They were also adopted by the French festival Europavox, and their concert was also broadcast on the Arte programme.
In 2022, the singles “Visualize”, “Happiness” and “Good Vibrations” became a fixture on radio stations such as FM4 in Austria, Radio Eins and FluxFM in Berlin, and famed German radio, which invited them to play live on air. The year 2023 brings their first tour of England and major festival performances, such as Jazzahead in Bremen, the Birmingham festival Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul and the Hungarian Sziget. It’s in Šiška that they’ll unveil brand new material, however. Don’t miss out.
