GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT

+ Special Guest: Jo Quail

Irish post-rock giants God Is An Astronaut are beloved by both domestic and international audiences. With their astounding musical and visual spectacle, grounded in atmospheric instrumentals, they consistently leave us in awe. This time around, they’ll be playing brand new material off their eleventh studio album Embers.

FOR FANS OF: Mogwai, Mono, Russian Circles …

The Irish trio God Is An Astronaut has released eleven studio albums and a number of other works. With twenty plus years of trailblazing work, the band is rightfully celebrated as a leading force in their genre, alongside esteemed acts like Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Mogwai, and Sigur Rós. Their music is characterized by a blend of atmospheric sounds, powerful instrumental passages, and melancholic melodies. Their style incorporates elements of electronic music, ambient, and experimental rock. The band is known for their emotionally charged live performances, which also include visual elements, and for often creating instrumental tracks that tell compelling stories without any words. Over the years, they have built a loyal fan base worldwide while remaining highly respected in the underground music scene.

Their latest album has us doubly excited for their upcoming show. Released by acclaimed metal label Napalm Records in September 2024, Embers takes listeners on an astounding sonic voyage and features guest appearances by virtuoso cellist Jo Quail.

Jo Quail is a British cellist and composer known for her innovative approach to the cello. Using pedals and effects to create complex, multi-layered soundscapes, she combines classical technique with modern technology. Her music blends elements of classical, ambient, post-rock, and experimental genres, resulting in atmospheric and often cinematic compositions. Jo Quail also composes for film and television, adding new dimensions to her already diverse musical career.
