For the first time ever, Kino Šiška is hosting the Eye on Film festival, featuring a selection of the best youth films from film festivals from all over the world. Güeros (Mexico, 2014) takes a humorous look at the path to self-discovery of three Mexican youths who find themselves within the invisible borders of Mexico City. The film will be followed by an analysis by young film critic Nace Zavrl (in Slovenian).
After protests break out at their university in Mexico City and the students rise up, Sombra and his friend Santos are completely lost. They waste their time in various strange ways. Sombra’s mother sends his brother Tomas to him to calm him down and set him straight. Tomas thus ends up in an environment far from what their mother would have wanted for them. He finds out that Epigmenio Cruz, a great musical idol of both brothers, is on his deathbed in the city hospital. With both brothers deciding they want to see him one last time, the boys head off toward a real adventure.
