Hause Plants, initially a solo bedroom project by Guilherme Machado Correia, evolved into a full-blown band by a group of childhood friends. After gaining popularity in Lisbon with catchy melodies and energetic live shows, they moved to Brooklyn in 2022, quickly integrating into New York’s indie scene and releasing the well-received EP Sleeping With Weird People. Inviting listeners into their world of nostalgia and adventure, their music finds inspiration in classic indie acts such as The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Rapture, as well as more contemporary showstoppers such as Nilüfer Yanya, Wet Leg, and Turnstile.
FOR FANS OF: Alvvays, The Cure, LCD Soundsystem …
Having toured extensively, including shows at major festivals and venues, Hause Plants were nominated for the Music Moves Europe Awards in 2023. Their latest EP, Field Trip To Coney Island, showcases the band’s growth with guitar-driven pop, intimate lyrics, and innovative song structures, aiming to create music that is both joyful and danceable.
The synth pop band Đoko from Maribor complements its rosy sound with melodic synths, electronic drums, melancholic lyrics and guitars, and draws inspiration from the new wave of the 1980s and 1990s. With singles such as “Puli” and “Blok 22”, they quickly grew their audience – “Blok 22” was also voted the song of the week on Val 202. Đoko are gearing up for the release of their debut album in 2024, and we’ll be able to hear the upcoming hits upon their return to Šiška.
