Hailing from the streets of New Orleans, the Hot 8 Brass Band is known for their signature blend of traditional jazz, funk, hip-hop, and the city’s own unique “bounce” music. With a career spanning nearly three decades, these musical powerhouses have earned global recognition, including a Grammy Award for their feature on Jon Batiste’s Album of the Year in 2022 and a nomination for Best Regional Roots Album in 2013 for The Life & Times Of….
Famed for their anthemic take on Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing”, as well as explosive brass-driven versions of Snoop Dogg, Stevie Wonder, and The Specials, the Hot 8 Brass Band has mesmerised audiences at Glastonbury, Fuji Rock, Roskilde, and WOMAD, among others. They’ve collaborated with Lauryn Hill, Mos Def, Mary J. Blige, Basement Jaxx, and the Blind Boys of Alabama, and performed live on BBC’s Jools Holland’s Hootenanny and the BRIT Awards.
