The forum aims to encourage critical thinking about racism in contemporary societies. What is racism, how it is manifested, how it relates with populism, nationalism, hate speech? What does racist action mean in the example of political parties and movements, how do racist symbols and images affect young people? What is the role of progressive movements in contrasting racism? How do video and film production address racism? The forum will look for answers to these and other questions through presentations of the results of two international projects of the Peace Institute »RAGE – Hate speech and populist othering in Europe: Through the race, age and gender looking glass« and »LIGHT ON ‒ Cross-community actions for combating the modern symbolism and languages of racism and discrimination« (http://www.lighton-project.eu).
