Kiosk continues its presentation of young authors of various artistic directions. Presenting his works in March will be young artist Jaka Vatovec, who is about to graduate in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Ljubljana. He works with various media, exploring diverse topics. In Kiosk he will be showing his work reflecting his interest in explorations of saints’ and martyrs’ death, as well as the transience of life and physical decay of the body. The topics are presented in his own alternative colourful way through grotesque images originating in his fantasy, thus presenting a counterbalance to the sombre motifs.
Claiming to know more of dinosaurs than about art theory, the author is nevertheless not dissuaded from creating a prolific oeuvre and participating in group and solo exhibitions, while also being active as author of zines.
Curated by: Tia Čiček and Dora Trček.
Organised by Kino Šiška.
