We’re launching a series of free workshops and lectures at DobraVaga for young artists at the beginning of their professional career.
We’re aiming to support them and offer them useful skills and knowledge that is important for working and building a career in the field of culture. The first workshop in the series will focus on building one’s portfolio. Participants will discuss what separates a portfolio from other forms of presentation and how to structure it, as well as how to best communicate one’s work, based on examples. The workshop will be led by visual artist Gašper Kunšič.
The workshop will take place both in person and online. Advance applications are mandatory, apply at: urska.aplinc@dobravaga.si. When applying, state your preferred manner of attendance – online or in person. If you will be attending in person, please bring your own computer. You can also send your existing portfolios or presentations of your work (photographs and concepts), which will be reviewed and discussed during the workshop.
When entering the venue in person, you have to display a negative PCR or HAG test or a certificate of having survived the illness or of vaccination, in accordance with National Institute of Public Health instructions and the decree in the Official Journal of the Republic of Slovenia, until revoked or changed.

Gašper Kunšič (1992) is active in the fields of visual art and graphic design. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, where he also received his M.A. degree. His work often originates in his own life, utilising exhibition processes to reflect on and recontextualise his own as well as collective history. He regularly holds exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad. He is the recipient of a scholarship by the Ministry of Culture of Slovenia and the Ljubljana Academy of Fine Arts Award, as well as a nominee for the Essl Art Award. He divides his time between Ljubljana and Vienna.
