An Italian of Russian descent, kariti, entranced listeners with her cathartic journey through bereavement on her 2020 debut Covered Mirrors, which she recorded in collaboration with Lorenzo Stecconi (Zu, Ufommamut, Amenra …). Through moving lyrics in English and Russian, her crisp fingerstyle guitar and eerie vocal harmonies weave “viscerally beautiful and haunting dark folk that sees our pain and holds a healing hand above it” (Cvlt Nation).
